Satekla was born in Ashaiman and began making music in his early school days. He
studied at Methodist Day Secondary School the same year with rapper Sarkodie where he
gained his High School Leaving Certificate. Recognition and musical style
He began performing as Stonebwoy since high school gaining himself underground popularity,
before signing on to Samini 's record label "Samini Music".
His first hit single was "Climax" featuring Samini, released off of his Grade1 album in
June 2012."Climax" went on to gain him nomination for the Best Reggae Song of the Year in the 2012 Ghana Music Awards. [1] Stonebwoy's second major single "Ghetto Love"
featuring Irene Logan was released in May 2012 and gained nomination for Afropop Song of the
Year in the 2013 Ghana Music Awards.StoneBwoy has shared the same stage
with Kip rich, Busy Signal and more. [2] For the first time in Ghana, an awards event to honour
Reggae and Dancehall genre (Bass Awards) was held in May 2013. Stonebwoy received 9
nominations [3] and came out as winner of the Best Collaboration ("Climax" ft Samini ). [4]
He released two major singles in 2013 "Pull Up" and "Kwenaamu". The former was a major hit
and was nominated for the 2014 Reggae Song of the Year in the Ghana Music Awards.
Stonebwoy has featured in a poll for MTV Iggy during August, when he was in London. He
performed on a float as part of the Notting Hill Carnival and later that evening at the All White
Party and again at the Miss Ghana UK 2013. Stonebwoy has collaborated on two of his
project in 2014 namely; "Ex boyfriend" featuring Mugeez of R2bees and "Happiness" featuring
Jah Vinci which are enjoying massive airplay across Ghana.
